20 August 2019: TSP Import extended

As previously communicated, the HMRC put in place the Transitional Simplified Procedures (TSP) for non-controlled goods to make it easier to import goods from the EU through Roll-on Roll-off locations. TSP will give access to the Simplified Frontier Declaration and Entry in Declarants Records.

Using TSP will reduce the amount of information you need to give in a UK import declaration when the goods are crossing the border. This will allow you to defer giving a full declaration and paying duties.

For the original Brexit days of 29 March 2019 and 12 April 2019, the deferred period for submission of the Full declaration was given as the 4 October 2019. As a result of the Brexit Day extension to 31 October 2019, the UK Government has announced that the new date for the Full declaration to be deferred to, is the 5 May 2020.
