The Government has been contingency planning to ensure the supply of medical products, including vaccines, is uninterrupted in the event of the UK leaving the EU without a deal. The documents linked below have been provided by the Department of Health and Social Care, and relate to:

•    Additional shipping routes between the EU and the UK
•    Warehousing capacity for additional buffer stock

If you ship medical products and vaccines, you need to register before 25 February to use the Government-secured capacity.

•    Click here to join the Supplier Registration workspace on the DHSC eXchange website.

Your Logistics provider cannot register on your behalf.

If you have registered and are successful in securing approval to use these additional shipping routes between the EU and the UK, you will be able to select your carrier choice and provide us with the approval that will enable us to use this route. However, we would suggest that this would not consist of a mixed load of approved and non-approved products via this additional routing.

Please review the document, click to download: Government secured capacity registration guidance, you will see where they are in the process, extract below, which is at: complete registration. The detail on how this will practically work will follow as part of the HMG analyse data stage, which will be followed by the HMG issue detailed communications.
