After being rescheduled from its original slot in 2020 the race which features amateur and professional pilots promises to be a feast for the eyes of car enthusiasts. Up to 700 vehicles will compete in what is one of the world’s most famous auto endurance races, in a thrilling 24-hour spectacle that can attract up to 200,000 spectators.
The creators, Peter Auto and the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, promise the tenth edition of the event will feature several novelties and commemorations, including a parade of mini cars driven by children aged 7 to 12 years old.Patrick Peter, Peter Auto, comments, “We chose Kuehne+Nagel because we wanted a partner that is capable of ensuring the race vehicles – which are coming from 30 different nations and which range in age from those built-in 1923 – when the race began – to 1981 – will be expertly handled via the trucks they will be transported in.”
Brian Cox, managing director, Kuehne+Nagel UK comments, “It’s the first time our UK Expo and Events team have worked on Le Mans Classic and we’re delighted to have won the contract as the official logistics partner for this historical, high profile event. Ensuring the cars and equipment arrive at the race track ready for kick-off, is a challenge I know they will relish.”
We chose Kuehne+Nagel as we wanted to work with a partner that could expertly deliver the 700 vehicles to the race track.
